Finish Reform Right Hour 17: Kevin Scott

Kevin Scott was one of seven families who came to Washington, DC to confront the insurance industry for denying their care. They came from around the country and appeared at the same hotel as the health insurance lobby's annual State Issues conference in downtown D.C. to recount the mistreatment they and their loved ones have endured at the hands of the private health insurance industry.
Kevin is a former marine officer who has a brain tumor. Kevin's MRIs, lab work, and treatment for side effects (like skin problems) are not covered through his BCBS Anthem plan which he retains through COBRA. When Kevin got sick, he left a good job in Virginia and moved in with his retired parents William & Elretha Scott in California who are trying to help pay bills that are now in the thousands and going up.
Watch Kevin and others confront the insurance industry:
Health reform is at the finish line. Kevin and his family are just a few of the reasons we need health care reform and we need to finish it right. We'll be posting one story every hour for twenty-four hours today to make sure we finish health reform right.
If you haven't joined our campaign to finish health care reform right yet, please join us and send a letter to Congress and the President, demanding they make health care affordable for everyone and hold the insurance companies accountable before a final bill is sent to the Oval Office for a signature.
