This morning, the Senate passed their health care bill Here's our statement, from National Campaign Manager Richard Kirsch:
“With passage by the Senate, the nation has moved one big step closer to comprehensive health care reform. Health Care for America Now will work to get the strongest bill to the President’s desk, one that provides good, affordable coverage to all and holds insurance companies accountable. To realize the promise of reform, we need to be sure that employers are required to help pay for good coverage for their workers, that premiums are affordable to families, that we do not tax benefits, that we enact tough insurance regulations, and that we offer the choice of a public health insurance option. We will urge President Obama to work with leaders in both houses of Congress to agree on legislation that meets these goals, guaranteeing good health coverage we can count on.”
HR676 - the only true reform "for the people". Don't sell out.
This is absolutely historic! I never thought this would present in any form during my lifetime. I am 50 years old, have worked in medicaid, mental health and healthcare all my life! This more important than anything that could have been presented to this administration. We need reform and it has to begin now in whatever form it can start. I understand there are people that feel this is not perfect…but we need to begin somewhere. I am hopeful it will evolve to a benefit for most citizens. I continue to hold my breath that we as a people can continue to move forward making huge strides to include all as a US citizen in having healthcare be a right…not a privilege!
We need to get it done. The insurance industry is already raising rates 25-30 % on some of the individual health care for small business owners. The insurance companies are just all about greed..they will never reform without laws..WE need to get this passed.
.Where are the rallies on our side? On the local evening news all we still hear about are the tea baggers protests and other negative drival. Why has no other station reported on the health care clinics run by Keith Oberman…What about running the clip on Millionaires against health care that ran on Rachel Maddow (it was a vocal featured in November's tea bag rally)
Fox & Friends get all their rallies reported on in the mainstream news Where is the coverage from our side?
Did you wonder why the "implementation date" of these reforms is PAST the next election timeframe? Guess what? These reformers are going to be in office AGAIN and then we find out what this "reform" does in our personal experiences.
And…..check this out….this says it all:

No PUBLIC OPTION means "BUSINESS AS USUAL" for these crooks.
"The tax on health benefits is being sold to the public dishonestly as something that will affect only the rich, and it makes a mockery of President Obama’s repeated pledge that if you like the health coverage you have now, you can keep it.
Those who believe this is a good idea should at least have the courage to be straight about it with the American people."
