Senate Bill as Expected: Not as Progressive as House Bill in Key Areas

Senator Harry Reid, the Majority Leader, has introduced the Senate's health reform bill. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590), is projected to reduce the federal budget deficit by $130 billion in the first 10 years. So how does the final Senate bill stack up against the House bill in the categories I discussed in my previous post ("House Health Bill Should Be A Model For The Senate")? Pretty much as expected.
Why aren't we using reconiliation? The 4 demos and the rest of the Party of No are forgetting that we won last year. Why isn't Reid just barreling over these guys? I'm sorry but everyday we keep this going, we lose power and votes! But that's just me!
The problem is: When the Republicans are back in power they will use the lack of a Medicare level coverage public option to make medicare a privet industry.
we very much need health care reform, preferably with a public option.
congress, please, please stop being bribed by the industries opposed to reform - it feels way too much like corruption - it does not become you - you are ignoring your responsibilities to care for the entire public.
For the U.S. this will be a closest a historical moment as it can be, but should this measure failed the factious Democrats are certain to be scapegoats.
The moderate Democrats don't quite realize that the party is already on the edge. Even some Republican reps managed to step out of their hardcore corporate ideology and support for the reform for their constituents. For the Democrats, uniting together and winning this measure will allowing them opportunities to determine the outcomes of the bill and the backing of the people. Because not passing this measure will definitely leave the Democrats no opportunity left to even fight against the odds that have already become insurmountable… and that will seal their fate as the Republicans will get louder and the supporters will no longer have faith in the party.
