Three House Committees, Working Together

Here's a bit of video from the press conference Chairmen Waxman, Rangel, and Miller gave announcing their health care draft. It's worth taking a step back and realizing how historic it is to see these committees working so closely together:
The idea, as I understand it, is to introduce the same bill in all three committees, making the process of bringing a bill to the floor much easier. And given that this bill is shaping up to be great, this is really good news.
Be careful what you wish for if it's like Medicare, little known facts about Medicare:
Congress prohibits Medicare patients from paying cash to receive treatment denied by Medicare – unless the doctor agrees not to take Medicare payments for two years.
Citizens who refuse to sign up for Medicare Part A (hospitalization) lose all Social Security benefits. Citizens who disenroll must repay benefits received.
Congress is paying Medicare HMOs (Medicare Advantage) 18 percent more per senior than what is paid through traditional Medicare, perhaps to entice seniors to HMOs.
Congress has begun paying Medicare bonuses to doctors who comply with government and HMO treatment directives.

Scarce Medicare dollars are used to fund medical education. In 1996, Medicare paid $7.1 billion toward the training of physicians. http://www.cchconline.org/17medicarefacts.php
Also this new SCHIP that just came out, is covering illegal alien's kids….you can bet a health care plan will cover the rest of the illegals.
We spend Billions each year on illegal aliens, we cannot afford this and our tax dollars should not go to them.
While DC is talking about cutting Medicare, will any of that savings go to illegal aliens?
It's time to tell Congress to get some common sense!
Health care is important and there are some loopholes on the current health care insurance. So, it's time to change it and make it accessible by many citizens. I am just wondering if dental health is included. I hope it is.
Canada health care is so HORRIBLE that their heart attack death rates declined rapidly after 1994.
"Researchers at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) found that deaths from heart disease fell by 30 per cent between 1994 and 2004, from 36 per 10,000 the first year to 25 per 10,000 a decade later. "

Thank God the United States doesn't do as the Canadians do.
And, thank God some of our representatives want us to continue doing as we are doing now.
Otherwise, we would live much longer and healthier lives.
