I would like to know who Rick Scott is but I am unable to find any text that I can read about him on your site. Being that I am unable to afford high speed internet, I can't play the video with any clarity.
I would like to comment on all of this health care mess. What is the difference between insurance controlled health care, which is what we have now, and government controlled health care?
The insurance companies already dictate who is too sick to help as I read on your first page that, that is a concern of yours that the government will do. Don't you people realize that when you put yourself in a situation where someone else calls the shots and has the money…they are the ones that have the say so?
In my opinion here is what is wrong. People can't get medical care because they can't afford insurance because they can't afford the premiums. They can't afford to pay the doctor fees because it costs in excess of $100.00 just to walk in the office door. The doctor's fees, hospitals, x-rays, lab fees, and so on are so damn high because of greed. They raise their prices in order to get more of the 80% that the insurance pays. So, inessence they are lying to get more money and they all do it.
The insurance companies are a business, as the doctor's office's have become, and when it comes right do to it, the bottom line dictates what they will and will not do. They do infact, have what they call an "eggshell" policy that allows them to decide if someone is of such bad health that they are fragile like an eggshell and they would be wasting their money to help that person.
How strange is it that we pay these insurance companies to tell us that they won't help us unless it is under certain circumstances. That would seem to me to be like paying $60.00 for a dinner and being told that you can't have the main course. Who in their right mind would put up with that???? You would raise hell till heaven wouldn't have it!!! Yet we allow these business' to do the exact same thing to us in regards to our health. How crazy is that???

I am also wondering about organizations that are spending millions to tell the public something we already know. Now that is just plain throwing good money after bad. If all you organizations are really concerned about the healthcare of the people of your country, take your millions and really do something with it. It is so easy to throw money out there and run off at the mouth, but you are not DOING anything to help the problem. In my mind that makes you no different than the politians, insurance companies and the medical field that screams about the cost of health care but they still don't do anything about it.

Why don't you take your millions, build clinics that are affordable that people can go to and really get medical care? If you want to truly bring down prices you have to competiton. If you really want to things to change you have to DO SOMETHING TO CHANGE THEM. Instead of looking everything that is wrong start looking at the positive of what your organization can DO, not just talk about. Instead of wasting money and just running off at the mouth like the politians do and we all know that, unless it is self serving, nothing really gets done. Unless your organization, or any organization, quits talking and telling people what we already know and really do something, I don't have much respect for any of you. I would be really interested in know where your donations come from and to what those people are connected to. It is usually true that when companies, whether nonprofit or not, and politians with all their meetings that go on for months and never really accomplish anything other than to spend our tax dollars, a person will find that they are beholding to someone that has deep pockets.
So, that is my opinion, and having talked with family and friends, it is pretty much the public's opinion to. Save your money. At the very least, quit talking if you aren't going do something.

If you think you want Government health care, then do some research on VA hospitals. A nurse at a VA hospital told my Dad, "If you don't want these people to kill you, then find a real doctor and never come back the the VA" Did you hear about the VA hospital in FL using the same tube on 10,000 people to perform colonoscopy proceedures? They didn't clean the tube between each person, only at the end of the day. It's possible that 10,000 people have been exposed to AIDS or many other diseases.

What has the governement ever handled and done it right?

The Government is not going to provide health services for people, all it will do is cost everybody a lot of money.

Why can't someone make an infomercial for single payer and/or a public option to counter Rick Scott's lobbyist and health care industry funded infomercial?

It shouldn't be too expensive to produce. Rick Scott probably had to hire "actors" to portray doctors and patients and ours would have the "real deal" and there would be no need to pay them. Also, he probably hired Canadians and Brits to describe the "evil, socialized, pinko, commie" system in their countries, where our side would be able to easily find all the rest who are fully satisfied and don't have to worry about filing for bankrucpty when they get cancer like I did.

To get the air time would be the most costly aspect and would probably run in the millions depending on the time slot and market areas.

SINGLE PAYER FOR ALL/HR 676!!!!
