Betsy McCaughey: Pay-for-play?

You've gotta see this.
Betsy McCaughey, the one behind the right wing smears against health care in the economic recovery package, got $11k in bonuses from a medical device maker one week before she kicked off her media blitz again comparative effectiveness:
Just wanted to let you know there's a grammatical error above:
the correct syntax is: "…kicked off her media blitz AGAINST comparative effectiveness.
Silly errors detract from your credibility.
Love,
Clint
My comment is that ms. McCaughey has read the bill and quotes the bill and page number. Would it be nice if the president and members of the congress were able to do the same?
She wrote an article about the stimulus footnoting it all over the place claiming this and that just like Ann Coultergeist–and just like Ann Coultergeist they were lies –were not true
Just because you call Ann Coulter names and claim that her article was full of lies does not make it so. I think that both McCaughey and Coulter did due diligence, read the bills, footnoted the bills, and offered their interpretation. John is merely proposing that anyone who wishes to refute the claims, do so in kind - with research, footnotes and credibility, not cutesy names and unfounded accusations.
John John why bother to answer … not sure why I am either. People are not interested in the truth, they are interested in getting something for nothing. The really BIG problem here is this is going to cost everyone alot more than they think, possibly even their lives. People used to compare Bush to Hitler, now we see we are living with the real Hitler wanna be. We are going to murder our old people and then we are going to abort babies after genetic testing them. Is this a health bill or a death bill????
All this says is that she was compensated by this company–not specifically for writing op-eds. This med device company is one that she has worked for historically. This only makes her a person who is, in some capacity, a healthcare worker. Nothing more. I'd rather hear facts about healthcare from an actual member of the healthcare working community than some bureaucrat in DC. Plus, she can back her claims with facts, citing page numbers of a bill most of Congress has not even read.
I'm not disputing that healthcare needs to change, just that the current bill in Congress isn't the answer. If it was, Congress wouldn't be exempt from it themselves.
Media blitz? Hope she's better at her day job.
Point is, the facts should speak for themselves, no matter WHO says them. Ms. McCaughey is ready to be specific about what in this package is unacceptable, I don't see anyone getting that detailed when trying to sell it. Is that because it won't hold up to a closer look? Oh yeah, we aren't suppose to look anyway, just pay and like it.
You've got to be kidding me!! "Think Progress" is nothing but a "dailykos" want to be…. For them to put down what Betsy McCaughey has to say about the proposed "Obamacare" is nothing more than a bunch of leftist loons trying to tune out common sense.. DAMN SOCIALISTS!!! All you have to do is read the damn thing (the house bill).. Please go to the following site… http://defendyourhealthcare.us/
Get the proposed house bill and simply read pages 425 to 430… It will tell you all you want to know about this proposed piece of garbage… Like Obama has said… If you're old, you might want to just consider "taking a pill" and "going to hospice"… It will save everyone money… Great idea (for those under 65)…
The proposed healthcare reform bill needs to define "Health Care." Will patients have the right to be diagnosed and treated by physicians? I worked as a federal employee in the VA Hospital, and a significant minority of our veterans were seen by N.P.'s (simple and complex patients) with virtually no supervision by physicians (other than monthly quick auditing of charts, as I recall).
Most states have a Patient Bill of Rights, but in Missouri, this document does not mention the right to be tended to by a medical doctor.
We must have a definition of what is meant by "Health Care" in the new bill.
Oh my goodness! We could make this very simple. If Congress and our fearless leader's family had to use the same health coverage as the ungrateful populace (you know…..those Astro Turf Americans), then I am certain that said populace would agree to accept it also. Perhaps Congress protects their Health Policy for a reason. Hmmmm! I wonder what that reason is?
Let's all wake up and smell the coffee (or is it tea I smell brewing).
Health Care would be so simple to solve. Come up with a bill that Congress, the President, his family and all of the people who work for him would be willing to go on, and I truly believe the American Populace would accept it also. People, please realize these people are not out to protect the masses as they claim. Whenever someone says he wants to do something for the common good, he (they) should not exempt himself (themselves) from that action. They should be a part of it, whether it is social security, health care or anything else they want to impose upon us. Wake up and smell the coffee (or is that tea brewing that I smell?)

Whether they read a version of the bill or not, their commentary is WRONG. Please see how she respond when Jon Stewart asked her what page mandatory end of life consulations are on (aka Death Panels).
