New Video: Insurance Company Rules

Posted on July 19th, 2008 by Jason Rosenbaum in Profits Before People

When insurance companies get to make up the rules governing who gets coverage and who doesn't, the concept of fairness goes out the window. If only regular people could use those "insurance company rules" in real life, right?

We've put together a video on this concept. It's funny (we think!), but the issues we're talking about are deadly serious. Check it out:

The analogy is apt. Insurance companies make up the rules as they go along, maximizing their profit along the way. AsĀ demonstratedĀ in Melody Townsel's case, this system defies logic and leads to chaos, with hard working people left behind. This system is broken - it needs to change.

Great job! It really sums up the rules!

That is fantastic.

Who is editing and proof-reading the HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICA NOW site?  The "about us" section had every fifth or sixth word run together.  The heading under the video in which everyone was making their own rules was bizarre.  It read "the analagy is apt.insurance companies"….instead of "the anlagy is ABOUT insurance companies".  It also read "make up the rules as they go" instead of MAKING up the rules as they go".  Lets increase the readership and enthusiasm by doing the site professionally.

Olly McPherson says:

Stephen, the grammar in the sentences you cite is correct. "The analogy is apt," is one sentence, and "Insurance companies make up the rules as they go along…" is another.
